If you decide to purchase a profile from us, we will talk you through the process of printing the test targets at no extra cost and advise you on which one you need. We're nice like that.

This is not a colour management training but we will get you going with your new printer, paper ink combination!
(Remote) ICC Printer Profiling
All files and ICC profiles are cross-platform compatible.

In order to be able to get a printer profiled (calibrated) you have to print a so-called colour target (test chart) with your choice of ink on your choice of paper (with your printer).

Step 01:

Please go to the
download page and download the following files:

Remote Printer Profiling Service Introduction

Pdf manuals > choose the documents you need, but at least either Photoshop 5 / 6 / 7,CS.
Choose some of the other documents as well which are on this web site in case you need some more information and help.
Test charts >   located on the left side of the page in the side bar menu.

Step 02:
Please read the instruction manuals, you will need to them follow precisely please call us if you have a question.

Your profile(s) are only going to be as accurate as the chart you have printed!

Step 03:
Print the test chart TC 9.18 or TC 2.88, which one is up to you.

Step 04:
Send the printed test chart(s) to us only after you let them properly dry for at least one day if you are using dye-based ink. If you are using pigment based inks, you can send the target immediately.

Step 05: When we recieve your chart we will spring into action:

We put this printed test chart on our measuring table and measure all the colour patches.  We use the Spectrolino and the SpectroscanT from GretagMacbeth, which we think is the best equipment on the market.
Step 06:

The measurement data will be used in GretagMacbeth's ProfileMaker 5 software to calculate the ICC Profile(s): it is possible to calculate differently optimised ICC Profiles:

For example

1.    Standard calculation is for 5000K or normal viewing conditions
      + Classic Gamut mapping + paper-coloured Grey

2.    The following viewing condition optimisations are possible:

6500K
Cool White Fluorescent

Narrow Band Fluorescent
Fluorescent F7 (6500K)
Fluorescent F8 (5000K)
Incandescent Illuminant A
Daylight 5500K (D55)
HMI Light 4800K
Light Box GTI D50
Light Box Judge III D50
Tungsten 3200K
Tungsten 3400K

3.    Higher colour saturation variations: LOGO Chroma Plus and LOGO Colourful.

4.    Colour correction taking the paper white in consideration (Neutral grey).

But do not worry we will usually just give you a standard calculation unless you ask for something different.

Step 07:                                               go back

We will then either upload your profile(s) onto the download page, so you will be able to download the profile at any time for the next few weeks (after around 2 weeks they will be removed), or we send them directly to you by email. Just let us know how you would like to have them delivered

Step 08:

After saving the profile onto your computer desktop, now drag and drop the profile(s) into the system colourfolder (Windows PC), Colorsync. folder (MacOSX), or Colorfolder within the Rip application folder (Shiraz, Colorbyte Image Print Rip)
(You can find the directory in one of the downloadable pdf manuals)

Step 09:

You are now ready to start using the ICC profile(s). Happy and accurate colour reproduction is now yours.

Price List

One ICC Profile of one ink, paper, printer combination, the prices are as follows:

Measurements taken from TC 2.88 £ 65 + VAT = £ 76.38

Although we think that Profiles based on TC 2.88 are very good, for the extremely colour critical professionals we recommend making profiles based on TC 9.18

One ICC profile for one ink, paper, printer combination for TC 9.18 are as follows:

Measurements taken from TC 9.18 £ 95 + VAT = £ 111.63

Small Gamut inks are relative difficult to control, but with the use of TC 9.18 we are able to achieve outstanding results. For that reason ICC Profiles for Small Gamut inks will only be made from TC 9.18! These are more complicated to produce, hence a higher cost.

For each additional profile calculation (of the same kind of paper, please see our pdf manual) we charge an additional: £ 15 + VAT = £ 17.63

Profile Editing
We charge for each editing session: £ 45 + VAT = £ 52.88

For full documentation please see the other pdf instruction manuals.
