If you go down to the Eden Project tonight...you may well find Linda Rutenberg, a Canadian photographer who is the artist in residence at Eden this summer, taking photos of the amazing plant-life in the biomes of the gardens. Linda has pioneered nocturnal garden photography and published three books. In Linda's own words: "My challenge is to capture the spirit and essence of each garden and to interpret and reveal the extraordinary poetic, lyrical and sensory richness of the night. This work and these images are about a sense of place, metamorphosis and the splendours of nature. The night transports us deep into our memory and imagination and fills us with awe and wonder." For the first month she will be taking photographs of Eden at night and most afternoons Linda will be seen in the Core editing her photos on a PC fitted with Shiraz. We are delighted to say that these photos will form the basis of a new exhibition, called 'Eden at Night'. The exhibition will run from 15 May - 31 July 2010 on the ground floor of the Core at the Eden at Night Project. Permajet and Shiraz-Rip Software, in association with Imaging-Expert.co.uk, are incredibly proud to be working with Linda Rutenberg, the ground-breaking photographer behind the newly published book English Gardens at Night, as she has developed a really ground-breaking approach to making images of familiar gardens during the unfamiliar atmosphere of the night. Not only are Imaging-Expert.co.uk and PermaJet supporting Linda but we are also providing the expertise to make sure that her fantastic images are produced in all their glory. In 2007, Linda embarked on an extraordinary international project called ‘The Garden at Night – a photographic journey.’ The Garden at Night (2007) explores twenty beautiful botanical gardens across the USA and Canada. After Midnight (2008) chronicles all four seasons in the Montréal Botanical Gardens. Her newest book, The English Garden at Night (Thames & Hudson), journeys into ten of England’s most prestigious public gardens, including Eden.
